Walk and Talk Therapy
A newer modality of therapy in the Western world, walk and talk is a lovely way to get your body involved in your mental health journey. The gentle movement of walking helps to down regulate frazzled nervous systems in a way that is safe, and provides some natural bilateral movement, which aids in emotional processing. It offers an excellent opportunity to practice some somatic exercises, and can feel much less intense than traditional talk therapy.
Walk and talk is particularly recommended for presentations of:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Emotional stagnation or numbness
- Psychosomatic presentations and illnesses
- Trauma
- Grief
- Neurodivergent clients
